From the 25-28th June the Budapest Essentials Festival will return to the capital city once again, only this year it will be more than just music on offer.

Many tourist attractions around the city will be offering free entry to those who are on holiday in the area or passing through on a river cruise of the Danube.

A chance to see a different side of the city

This is the second Budapest Essentials Festival and there have been several improvements made in order to make the experience as enjoyable and diverse as possible for visitors. There will be a strong focus on cuisine and culture and as a result wristbands for the festival will also gain the wearer discounts in local restaurants and cafes, and will allow free entry to museums and galleries in the area. Plus, to help get people around, it will also include a free day of bus travel.

The popular clubs and bars will be open as expected along with the best music venues, but there will also be the opportunity to visit special venues including UNESCO World Heritage sites, the Budapest City Zoo and the Ludwig contemporary art museum. For those who want some relaxation time, the popular Szechenyi Thermal Baths will also be open and free to those wearing a wristband.

The main stage will be set up on Margaret Island and it will be taking advantage of the lovely June weather by being set up outside. It’s sure to be a busy weekend with the main music acts confirmed as: The Wombats, Duke Dumont, La Roux, Katy B, Solomun, Carl Craig, Answer Code Request and Dope D.O.D.
