Art Brussels set to return this weekend

Art Brussels is expected to attract more than 29,000 visitors to the up and coming city, including those on river cruising holidays, and will run from 24th-27th April. Showcasing a variety of artwork, from both established and emerging talents, it’s the perfect opportunity to discover a range of exhibitors. This will be the 33rd edition of the art fair, which is highly anticipated each year by both the art world and those interested in culture.

Art in Europe’s most exciting art city

More than 190 international galleries from 34 countries will be displaying their exhibitions in three different sections. These will be named Prime, Young and Discover, with the latter being a new addition for the 2015 fair, which will promote promising and innovative artists. In an article by Blouin Artinfo, Artistic Director Katerina Gregos, said: “Art Brussels continues to emphasise the strong discovery element of the fair and its reputation as the place to identify artists at the beginning of their careers.”

Also, as part of this year’s art fair, there will also be a stage for live music, which will replace the talks programme. Each day will see a number of different Brussels-based artists perform with acts including Joris Van de Moortel SP and his Ur Gerausch Kammer Ensemble, Ping Pong Tactics, and Ratzinger, to name a few. The Cinema section of the fair will also be returning, with a series of short films and documentaries curated by Lorenzo Benedetti being shown throughout the weekend.

On Thursday evening there will also be an inaugural event in the form of Gallery Night in the City, which will see a selection of Brussel’s participating galleries open their doors until 9pm. Arts Brussels will be operating a shuttle service for this event, which those visiting the city can take advantage of.
