Buda Castle prepares to celebrate Easter

Every year, Buda Castle celebrates Easter with the Buda Castle Easter Festival in which visitors and locals enjoy the huge array of festivities that take place with plenty of things to see, do and eat.

Anyone who has ever spent Easter in Budapest will know that the city takes advantage of a time that sees their community come together in one big celebration. From local Easter foods to try to gain a real taste of the local culture to concerts and performances, Easter is a superb time to visit the Hungarian capital on spring river cruise holidays.

Buda Castle offers a warm welcome

Easter in Budapest is regarded as a fantastic time to visit the area; festival tickets include entry to the city’s key attractions, such as the Buda Castle buildings, the Hungarian National Gallery and the Budapest History Museum. This means that those visiting during Easter can gain a real sense of the city’s culture when they visit as they can learn all about Hungary’s history as well as its traditions in the midst of the festival.

Visitors can also enjoy the range of concerts and dance shows on display, which show both Budapest’s tradition and contemporary culture, as well as the great range of customary Easter foods on offer such as milk bread or challah, which looks as good as it tastes in its typical braided fashion, as well as Easter hams and, of course, eggs.

The festival will be taking place between the 19th and 21st April for those visit the Hungarian capital this weekend, but for those who are missing out there is still time to book a 2015 European river cruise with Emerald Waterways to catch the spectacular event next year.
