Rotterdam Museum introduces James Bond exhibition

The exhibit is titled ‘Design 007, 50 years of Bond style’ and includes more than 500 objects relating to the British series of spy films. Fans of the secret agent on deluxe European river cruises can view displays of scripts, costumes, props and original photographs, which provide a detailed insight into the makings of the films.

Taking a journey through 5 decades of Bond films, from the debut film ‘Dr.No’ that starred Sean Connery in 1962 to ‘Skyfall’ in 2012 that starred Daniel Craig, this is one of the biggest and best tributes to the series in the world. Formed with exclusively loaned material from the archives on EON Productions, a visit to the ‘Designing 007’ exhibition will be a truly authentic experience.

Genuine costumes and props from the film

Presented in a dozen themed rooms throughout the museum, the exhibition’s main aim is to explore the Bond style, which is well known for being at the height of glamour. Costume and props are one of the main focuses of the exhibit, and the museum boasts a unique collection that will attract thousands, including those on river cruises with Emerald Waterways.

From the white bikini worn by Ursula Andress and Q’s briefcase to Scaramanga’s golden gun and the shark teeth from ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’, this section of the exhibit will appeal to all movie fanatics. Costumes of the film icon himself can also be seen, with Roger Moore’s 1983 ‘Octopussy’ tuxedo and Pierce Brosnan’s 1995 ‘Goldeneye’ Brioni suit on display.

The exhibition includes a display devoted to the famous cars of the films, such as the silver Aston Martin DB5 that featured in ‘Goldeneye’ and Skyfall’, as well as a ‘Gold Room’ that features a circular bed covered in white linen with a woman’s body painted in gold – one of the most famous scenes from ‘Goldfinger’.
