CLIA Cruise Week goes social

CLIA Cruise Week offers holidaymakers the chance to thoroughly consider a summer river cruise holiday, with CLIA member travel agents and cruise lines offering all the information and inspiration they could possibly need. In a push to gain increased awareness among cruise fans, the CLIA is taking to social media. 


With CLIA member travel agents across the country holding events to celebrate Cruise Week, the association is looking to create a gallery of the best cruise images in anticipation of this great event. For those who have been on escorted Danube river cruises before, CLIA wants images and memories sent in using the hashtag #lovecruise on Twitter.

They are hoping to create a whole album that will help inspire other like-minded travellers to discover the world and its waterways through cruising as a part of CLIA Cruise Week 2014. Anything is welcome, from photos of destinations and ports to the ships and excursions, so long as it works as an example of why you love to cruise.

Those able to describe why they love cruises in three words on Twitter using the hashtag before the end of Cruise Week on the 5th October are even able to win a prize from CLIA UK & Ireland.

Cruising has taken off in a big way in recent years, as shown in this previous article, and with new cruise lines taking to Europe’s waterways such as the innovative new offering from Emerald Waterways, its popularity is expected to continue.

Cruise Week looks to harness this new found publicity and help potential cruisers decide when and where they might like to take a future cruise; keep an eye on their Twitter feed for all the latest updates to Cruise Week and their other events and news.
